„Development and implementation of a production programme for auto glazing positioners’ equipment along with palletising process automation based on an innovative zinc alloy of improved thermal and mechanical resistance parametersj”.

Project objectives:

Development of an innovative product made of zinc and aluminium, copper, titanium and other micro-additives alloy, which the product, due to its technical parameters and automated control process, will meet strict requirements of the automotive industry and will enable replacement of sintered steel details used so far.  As a result, the market will welcome a product of higher quality, manufactured in a cheaper and more energy-saving production process.

The new product will enable:

combining the best properties of the previous material (technical parameters) and the best qualities of the pressure casting based on the automated production process, that is efficiency, repeatable quality, low time-consumption and saving of energy.

Deliverables:

  • reduction of production cost of positioners attached to the automotive windscreens in comparison with costs of products made from sintered steel,
  • reduction of costs by introduction of an automated production control regime,
  • a product with parameters reproducible and comparable with technical parameters of sinters,
  • obtaining proper tolerances for binders application, positioners arrangement on holders in Cartesian system or serial design,
  • reduction of the energy consumption of production of a single element by 80% in comparison with the same element produced by sintering,
  • the widest possible replacement of sintered steel products by a new lighter product based on a new alloy, what will reduce car’s weight and save fuel.
