Modern foundry is the most important spot in Saga Poland.

The highest quality castings of zinc and aluminium alloys are created here and delivered to customers in the country and around the world.

The innovative technological solutions we use guarantee repeatability of the production cycle parameters within the high batch production. Machines are equipped with heating and cooling devices, also with real-time control and optimisation systems. They allow tracking of changes of particular parameters of the process, allowing early detection of possible deviations from the initially set parameters and their immediate removal in order to maintain the highest quality of the products.

Castings are made on high-pressure machines with hot- and cold-chambers, environmentally friendly and energy efficient, of the Green Line and Green World series. The machines are equipped with a modern vacuum system – by a Swiss company, Fondarex –  with innovative control capabilities. This solution improves filling the chambers and reduces the surface roughness of the products. The amount  of production waste is also reduced, which is equivalent to better quality of manufactured products.

Foundry

We produce castings from zinc and aluminium alloys weighing up to 3 kg, on machines with mould closing force of 60 to 580 tonnes, with the following technologies:

  • pressure casting on ”hot chamber” machines

  • pressure casting on ”cold chamber” machines

Aluminium alloys, which are light and resistant to high temperatures, are produced on specialised machines made by Colosio and Frech. Precise zinc alloys are characterised by high resistance and perfect machining and finishing properties.

Aluminium profiles

Extruded aluminium profiles – bending, shaping and processing of profiles.

Saga Poland has a broad range of possibilities in terms of aluminium profiles processing.  Cutting-edge machinery stock allows:

  • Cutting on sawing CNC machines
  • Milling
  • Bending
  • Surface treatment
  • Corrosion-preventive KTL coatings

Additionally, in cooperation with our trusted suppliers, we provide anodising of our profiles.

Machining & Surface treatment

We provide complete treatment of casting in machining centres using trim dies, abrasive and blasting machines, lathes and milling machines or by chemical treatment.

In the process, we use means and measures to support the processing, what ensures smoothing the sharp edges of the elements, a removal of imperfections, and a proper cleaning before painting, varnishing or corrosion-preventive coating.

Machining

We have a full spectrum of processing possibilities, the latest CNC machining centres used for machining of steel and extruded aluminium profiles.

Automatic and semi-automatic tools designed and manufactured in our Tooling Department belonging to the Luma Automation group.

Cataphoresis

Cataphoresis is one of the most effective ways of corrosion-preventive coating of metal parts produced from steel, cast iron, zinc and aluminium alloys, based on zinc phosphates.

In Saga Poland, we have a cutting-edge, fully-automated line for cataphoretic painting with the option of adjusting the coating thickness parameters. The coating’s durability is confirmed by salt chamber tests.  Cataphoresis is based on modern technology BASF. The size of bathtubs allows painting elements with maximum dimensions of: 2000mm x 650mm x 850mm. Our colour is RAL 9005 and the coating thickness we offer ranges from 10 to 25µm.

Palletisation - automation of binders and SBT tapes application

The palletisation process involves preparation of details for direct, automated application at the assembly line.  Details are layered on the PVC, PP or paperboard pallets so that a robot can collect them for the final assembly at the customer’s plant. Palletising process is done using matrices guaranteeing the repeatability of the items on the pallet. Packaging takes place in optimal climatic conditions and the hermetic closure of elements allows their safe delivery to Customers.

Aluminium anodising

Anodising is an electrochemical process of metal processing. Its aim is to generate a protective coating (a layer of aluminium oxide). We offer black decorative anodising of elements up to: 50 cm long, coating weight up to 30µm.

The main advantages of the anodic coating:

  • corrosion protection
  • increased surface hardness
  • improved resistance to mechanical damage
  • resistance to UV and other weather conditions
  • decorative effect

Our process includes:

  • Degreasing
  • Preparation for electropolishing
  • Electropolishing
  • Proper anodising
  • Chemical dyeing
  • Sealing
